HARBOR FAMILY HEALTH ASSOCIATES

HARBOR FAMILY HEALTH ASSOCIATES serves patients ages 6-106 with comprehensive, personalized health care provided in a comfortable, home-like atmosphere.  Our goal is to assist patients to reach the highest level of wellness possible.  We provide the full range of preventive and illness care, and have practiced in Gig Harbor, WA since 1979.

ERIC W. LURIA, MD is board certified in Family Practice and sees the full range of teen and adult problems of an acute or chronic nature.  He has additional training in mental health, and enjoys working with challenging patients. 

CATHERINE C. LURIA, MS, ARNP is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner board certified in family practice.  She was the first nurse in Washington State authorized to write prescriptions.  She cares for most of the children, has a special interest in women's health issues, and has advanced training in mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and ADD.

From highway 16 - from Tacoma direction - take the Gig Harbor City Center exit, turn left (away from city center), proceed to Wollochet Dr./Hunt St. signal, turn right and the office is the 2nd driveway on the left.

From highway 16 - from Purdy direction - take the Wollochet Dr. exit, turn right (away from city center), proceed to signal at Hunt St., turn right and office is 2nd driveway on the left.

OFFICE HOURS:  Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5pm and staff only Friday 9am to 3pm                                                                                  

APPOINTMENTS:  All office visits are by appointment.  We will try our best to accommodate your needs and to see you on the same day for acute care needs.

CONCERNING SCENTED PRODUCTS - PERFUMES ETC.   PLEASE refrain from wearing SCENTED body lotion or perfumes to our office.  Mrs. Luria and many of our patients are ALLERGIC to certain scents.  THANK YOU.

INSURANCE COVERAGE:  We accept most health plans.  Bring your current INSURANCE CARD along with your COPAY or DEDUCTIBLE which are due at the time of service.  We do accept MASTER CARD and VISA.

HOSPITALIZATIONS:  As your primary care providers we use the hospital physicians and specialists at Tacoma General, Allenmore, Mary Bridge or St. Joseph (and St. Anthony's in the future) Hospitals.  Upon discharge we will provide appropriate on-going care.

EMERGENCIES:  For life threatening emergencies CALL 911.

AFTER-HOURS CARE:  Weekday evenings and nights Dr. Luria is on call.  Week-ends we share with a call group of family practitioners.

      BEFORE CALLING:  Please take your temperature and have names and doses of all current medications handy by the phone.  NOTE THAT NARCOTIC PAIN MEDICINES WILL NOT BE FILLED BY THE ON-CALL PHYSICIAN.
